Online Graduate Program Director Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. Venessa Grandjean serves as the Online CSD Graduate Program Director and Clinical Assistant Professor for the online graduate program in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dr. Grandjean completed her Doctorate of Speech-Language Pathology (SLPD) May 2017 from Nova Southeastern University and her Master of Science (MS) degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Texas State University in 1995. Her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and education earned her a lifetime teaching certification. She is also a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and a member of the Texas and American Speech-Language-Hearing associations.
Dr. Grandjean has been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist and supervisor for 23 years in all levels of public education, early childhood intervention units, Head Start schools, pediatric and adult home care services, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and public and privately-owned hospitals. She was an Area Manager of therapy services until her employment with Baylor University in 2019. Dr. Grandjean has served as the online director since the program’s inception and began teaching as a clinical assistant professor June of 2020. Her research dissertation focused on the positive effects and need for specific-corrective feedback from Speech-Language Pathologists during direct supervisory visits with SLP Assistants.
