Become a Research Assistant
How to Become a CSD Undergraduate Research Assistant
What is a Research Assistant?
Faculty members in the CSD Department conduct exciting research in many areas of speech, language, and hearing. Our undergraduate students are often involved in these projects, either for academic credit or sometimes for a stipend (if the faculty member has a grant).
Our department is conducting real research with real humans addressing real communicative issues….and YOU could make a real contribution!
Research Assistants Might Assist With...
- Collecting data
- Creating stimuli
- Soliciting research participants
- Data entry
- Analyzing data
- Searching for and reviewing previous literature
- Other vital tasks
Next Steps?
Email the CSD faculty member whose research area interests you and ask about any current or future research opportunities in their lab. They might invite you to meet with them to discuss opportunities and specific requirements.
If approved by a faculty member, speak to your advisor to register for CSD 4V87. You might be eligible to take this course up to two semesters.
