Professor Janice Stewart currently provides clinical training and supervision for graduate students in the residential program at Baylor University in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Clinical services include therapy and diagnostics on a weekly basis in the Baylor University Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic. Her primary interest is preschool speech and language disorders and she serves as the Director of the Language Articulation Preschool in the Baylor Clinic. Professor Stewart also trains and supervises graduate students for the Clinic in the afternoon. She is a graduate of Baylor University for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees and is certified by ASHA with her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology. Waco has been her residence following graduate school where she and her husband Jack have raised three children, all Baylor graduates.
Professor Stewart came to Baylor University CSD Department full time in the fall of 1993. She came from a local school district after nine years of service as a school speech-language pathologist and with a number of years as lead clinician for the district. Following graduate school she served several years at the McLennan County Rehabilitation Center as a speech pathologist and audiologist. Other clinical experiences have included Home Health services, PRN work in nursing home facilities, and private practice.
