Yang-Soo Yoon, PhD
Associate Professor

Yang-Soo Yoon serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Dr. He received his Master of Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University at Kingsville in 2006, and a PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences from University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign in 2008. Prior to his time at Baylor, he spent four years as a post-doctoral fellow at the House Ear Institute, and one year as a post-doctoral associate at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He also spent four years serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Dr. Yoon's current research interests include improving speech perception in noise by optimizing the integration process in binaural hearing and developing insertion and placement techniques of cochlear implant electrode arrays using programmable materials.
