NSSLHA at Baylor

NSSLHA Baylor Logo
The National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a preprofessional organization for students pursuing careers in speech language pathology and audiology.

The NSSLHA chapter at Baylor University represents an inclusive and diverse network of students with similar interests. Members have the opportunity to hear from professionals working in the field and to participate in a variety of social, service, and advocacy events.


Meetings

Baylor NSSLHA general meetings are held once per month. They are open to any Baylor student interested in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD).

NSSLHA members are encouraged to attend as many meetings as possible. See full membership details below.


Membership

While general Baylor NSSLHA meetings and events are open to all Baylor students, specific requirements must be completed to become an active member of NSSLHA. Active members who meet all requirements are able to include NSSLHA membership on their resumes and receive recognition and cords for graduation.

In order to become a Baylor NSSLHA member, a student must complete the membership link provided at the general meetings and in the newsletters. Members are encouraged to attend as many NSSLHA meetings and events as possible. Active member requirements include:

  • Attending 2 of the 3 meetings per semester
  • Attending 1 social event per semester
  • Attending 2 service events per semester
  • Attending 1 advocacy event per semester
  • Participating in the Fall Carnival
  • Attending the Fall Conference
  • Paying local dues (Freshmen-Juniors only)
  • Paying national dues (Seniors only)
