Dr. Melissa P. Garcia serves as Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Assistant Director of the online graduate program in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dr. Garcia completed her Doctoral Degree in Education with a specialization in Speech-Language Pathology in 2016 from Nova Southeastern University. She is a Registered and Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Dr. Garcia has taught in higher education for over 15 years and has practiced Speech-Language Pathology in numerous pre-schools and schools and clinical settings including outpatient rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities and community health clinics. She has been an adjunct lecturer since 2020 and joined Baylor as a full-time faculty member in the summer of 2022.
